Practical Tips & Tools Series: A New Day Is Dawning: How to See Your Board as an Asset
This interactive session invites nonprofit leaders to rethink the role, responsibilities, and
untapped potential of their boards. Too often, boards are viewed primarily through the lens
of compliance or fundraising. This experience challenges those assumptions and reframes
the board as a strategic asset capable of advancing mission, strengthening community
impact, and fueling sustainable growth. Participants will explore how to uncover the
“hidden treasure” within board members’ skills, networks, and lived experience; shift
toward opportunity-focused governance; and lead with clarity, learning, and purpose.
Attendees will leave with fresh perspective, practical insights, and concrete ideas to elevate
board engagement and effectiveness.
Key Takeaways:
- Moving from Fundraising to Mining Treasure
- Focusing on Opportunity and Growth
- Leading Through Learning and Showing the Way
- Welcome to Our Adventure, Let's Enjoy the Journey
